Where are you from and what inspired you to become a television writer?
I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario – Canada! Actually, I started off wanting to write feature films but after writing and developing my first television series, I realized how much more interesting writing for television was. Writing stories and characters that evolve over a much longer arc affords so much more depth and dimension. The collaborative nature of television writing also really appeals to me. At the end of the day, I love good television and always have – so I guess it’s no surprise that I most enjoy writing for the small-screen.
What Spec did you write to get into the workshop?
My writing partner and I wrote a Grey’s Anatomy.
What Spec did you write while you were in the workshop?
Ugly Betty.
Who is your all time favorite television character and why?
Off all time?! That’s tough. But of my current favorite TV shows it would be a dead tie between Hank Moody of Californication and Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock.
